We purchased this refrigerator along with many others to equip our brand new home we built two years ago. We have had good luck with LG in the past so we purchased everything for our new home which included: refrigerator microwave induction range oven dishwasher washer dryer television sound bar 3 head mini split AC heat system even the bathroom counters are LG. The mini Splits had a bad thermistors new in the box. And have needed quite a bit of installation issues. The refrigerator has severe pressure dents all over the face of the unit which LG will not correct. After two years of operation the compressor went out and ruined hundreds of dollars of food. It took over a week for LG to find a service repair technician to fix the unit and over Two weeks for him to get the parts and repair the unit. It is back functional however LG does not extend the warranty from the failure date. I am assuming I will need to replace the refrigerator before the warranty on the compressor expires. We really like the design and the functionality of the refrigerator we are just concerned about how long it will last and now will always be concerned about leaving the refrigerator for long periods for fear of it breaking down and ruining more food or worse.

IF HAVING A FILTER FOR YOUR ICE MAKER IS A MUST FOR YOU THEN SKIP THIS MODEL. MY 25 YEAR OLD FRIDGE I HAD A FILTER FOR THE ICE. THEY WILL LET YOU BUY A ICE FILTER FOR IT WHEN YOU BUY A FRIDGE FROM THEM BUT IT DOES NOT ACCOMMODATE ONE. THEY MISSED THIS ONE BIG. JUST A OLD RETIRED GUYS OPINION. AS FAR AS THE FRIDGE NO PROBLEMS YET. SO IF YOU DO NOT NEED A FILTER BECAUSE YOUR WATER IS GREAT RIGHT OUT OF THE FAUCET THIS ONE IS FOR YOU FYI

We bought our fridge almost 2 1/2 years ago and our linear compressor went out recently and the fridge stopped cooling. I was able to reach out to their customer service to schedule a repair and it has since been repaired and its now working fine.
