We just switched from an electric cooktop to this gas cooktop and we are glad we did. It heats up fast and is very efficient. Cleanup is quick and easy. We are so glad that we made the switch.
Horribly buy and worse customer service

Bought this one for my mother in law about 2-3 months ago. The surrounding gets very hot to burning level and my mother in law 84 year old woman has been receiving nothing but the run around from LG for a refund. I had expected more from LG and very disappointed
Came for the size. Stayed because well it works.

As I approach hit? the 2 year anniversary of purchasing and installing this cooktop it seems like a good time to write a review of it. To be honest I really had no intention of purchasing an LG cooktop. First of all wed just built a new home and as such had all new appliances in it. Second of all well I tend to lean towards European brands. But. The new appliances the builder installed lets say it rhymes with Schmaffay have proven to all be junk - ok except for the double oven - but I digress. The included cooktop was fine when it worked but it had three pretty bad flaws - one of which was a pretty bad safety issue that the company refused to fix - and the cost of service would have been 70 of the cost of a new one. So that brings me here: LG 30 gas cooktops are a direct dropin replacement for this other brand the cutout difference was maybe .25 in one direction or the other that I will never patronize again so rather than dealing with cutting our again relatively new granite countertop I went with this cooktop. Plus honestly my LG washer/dryer pair has been exemplary as well. And honestly I have zero regrets. Yes I bought an extended warranty for it. But knock wood so far the absolute worst thing I have to say about it is that the fit was a LITTLE bit tight for the cutout not LGs fault at all and that it doesnt clean itself. I am including a photo and honestly I was about to clean it before doing so but this is more real IMHO. This is what the thing looks like after 2 years of use and after a family of 5 has used it for 6 days or so since it was last cleaned. And if youre looking at gas cooktops you need to know theyre not nearly as quick and easy to clean as say a glass induction cooktop would be. None of my knobs have broken major issue with our last one none of the lettering has washed off yet? as others have mentioned perhaps happening to them the red lighting is... kinda nice actually. The griddle is well just OK - not breathtakingly amazing not bad. When you do clean the burners they go back together with out issue last one would take days to get all the burners *just right* and fully functional again. Oh and I have zero issues with the burner ranges. Middle burner boils water quickly on larger pans. The small back burner goes low enough for my needs ok minor complaint I suppose that Id like it to go a tad bit hotter on high and the others work as expected. Honestly and this is maybe the highest compliment I can pay after 3 years of misery with our last one I just dont think about this cooktop all that often. This is because it just works. I turn the knob fire comes out only where its supposed to - again unlike my last one in the exact amount I ask it to and when Im done I turn it off and it stops. Maybe I wouldnt like this one so much if I hadnt had such a miserable experience with my last one but heres hoping this one blows well past the 4 years I got out of the last one.
