There are not many under-the-cabinet microwave ovens available. We were happy to find this one. So easy to attach. And, so easy to work. The only thing that I wish would be different is that the start button be red so it would be easy to find and touch. But after using it for a month, finding the start button is becoming natural.
Not what we hoped for...

We needed to replace our prior microwave with one capable of mounting under a cabinet since we have a small kitchen with limited counter space. This narrowed the field to 2 models, the Whirlpool 0.7 Countertop being one (with no user reviews available at the time) and the other, another manufacturer's model with terrible user reviews. I hoped for the best and ordered the Whirlpool. It IS compact though it was much more of a challenge to mount than our previous larger, mountable unit had been.On to performance! Our primary use of a microwave is for heating or defrosting things and, occasionally, to bake potatoes or pop popcorn - very basic stuff. The Whirlpool takes almost a third longer to heat food and liquids than our previous model, groaning the whole time the glass plate turns. The plate is also prone to coming off its rollers if dishes placed on it aren't exactly in the middle. The Defrost feature only works if you know the weight of frozen items (and if they are a pound or more). Otherwise, you have to use 30% cooking power which seems to take almost double the time to defrost than our previous unit had taken. On the plus side, the unit is fairly easy to use (no advanced features!), easy to clean and has a good alert that sounds every few minutes so there's no forgetting something in it.Overall, this is a very BASIC unit which is understandable considering its low cost but I had really hoped it would perform better. Maybe Whirlpool and other microwave manufacturers should consider designing compact high-performance units for those of us with very small kitchens. I would gladly pay 2 or 3 times as much for it!!
Highly Recommend This Microwave!!! 5 Stars and then some :)

This is my second Whirlpool - same model. I love this microwave. My first one lasted me for like 9 or 10 years. I went looking for another microwave and knew I wanted one just like that first one. I must have gone to 6 stores. Finally at HHGregg, there it was...the exact model of my first microwave. At an incredibly reasonable price. I told them to wrap it up.I have had this 2nd Whirlpool microwave for about 2 years. The performance is great. Dependable. Easy controls (my little 3 years old granddaughter can operate it (with me standing near her of course), great menu features, nice alert that the food is done, fits well on my counter and is attractive.I typically do not cook or bake in a microwave. I use it for reheating and heating foods.I would highly recommend this microwave to anyone looking for a great appliance, that is dependable and does a wonderful job of heating and reheating foods.
